A devoted son of Okpuno Ahani, he dedicated much of his life to the growth and development of his community. For many years, he served diligently as the Community Secretary of Okpuno Ahani, a role he handled with responsibility, transparency, and deep respect for the people he represented. His leadership was marked by honesty and a genuine desire to see his community thrive.

He was also an active member of the Okpuno Ahani Land Development Union, where he worked tirelessly alongside others to develop a large expanse of land at Oji River Mile 2. His vision was always centered on collective progress, ensuring that community resources benefited everyone. In the face of challenges and opposition, he stood firm for truth and justice. At one point, he and three others were wrongfully accused and imprisoned for over six months on a serious charge of murdering a young man beside a river nearby the layout they're about developing for the community. Yet, even in that difficult time, truth prevailed, and they were eventually discharged when the facts came to light. This moment in his life reflected his courage, resilience, and unshakable belief in doing what is right.

Late Hon. Cyril Onwuemesi also took responsibility for electricity matters in Okpuno Ahani Achi, a role he carried out with excellence. He worked hard to ensure that electricity reached households across the community, improving daily life for many families. Notably, he carried out these duties not for personal gain, but purely for the development and well-being of his people.

Professionally, he contributed his skills and knowledge while working with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing in Enugu State during his early years. He also served as a Special Assistant at Nigeria Breweries, where he worked as a front desk officer. In every role he held, he demonstrated discipline, humility, and a strong work ethic.

Beyond his titles and achievements, Late Mr. Cyril Onwuemesi was known for his character. He was a man with no hatred in his heart-someone who did not discriminate and never supported injustice. He stood firmly against wrongdoing, even when it made him a target for those who did not share his values. To some, his honesty and courage made him a threat, but to many more, he was a symbol of hope and righteousness.

His life is a reminder that true leadership is not about power, but about service. His legacy lives on in the development he championed, the lives he touched, and the values he upheld.

Though he is no longer with us, his impact remains deeply rooted in Okpuno Ahani and beyond. He will always be remembered as a man of peace, a defender of truth, and a pillar of his community.
