From (Washington, DC) - The Trump administration is claiming the new ballroom under construction at the White House is needed to protect the President. Administration officials made that claim on Thursday in a new documents filed with the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Earlier this month, a federal judge ordered construction on the ballroom to come to a halt, stating Trump is not the owner of the White House. In the new filings, the administration says stopping construction now would "imperil the President and national security." It's asking the court for a new ruling today, and says it will appeal to the Supreme Court if construction is not allowed to continue.
